Group Scout Leader Message

Happy Christmas To You All

As the new Group Leader at Collingham I am relishing getting involved in local community life and showing our Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop how they can get involved too.

I am really enjoying being a Scout Leader as many of us have over the years. Being invited to take up this new challenge as Group Leader is a fantastic volunteering opportunity to help young people in Collingham and surrounding villages learn new skills.

As a child I was both a Cub and a Scout and both my children have been Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and I have seen how the movement can inspire young people to achieve, grow as leaders and help others.

We have built a strong foundation within Beavers, Cubs & Scouts this year and we have great plans for the fast arriving 2024.

As a Group we are striving to improve. There’s always lots of things we can and want to do for our young people to achieve but … we need your help. We currently support over 60 children in and around Collingham from ages 6-14 and we are open to all. We need you to donate time.

One hour a month, once every two weeks or even once a week enables young people to achieve much more. Put simply … 1 hour of donated time = 20 hours of opportunity for young people in Collingham.

We can’t do this without you. Our young people need you. Get involved and inspire our young people.

We also have some very exciting plans for 2024 to start a Squirrels Section for 4-6 years that will bring a whole new dimension to Scouting in Collingham. If you would like to be part of an exciting journey through the Scout movement get in touch.

Thanks, Neil
